NOTE: I’ve written a book ALL about this, it’s called VENUS: A Sacred Path. A Feminine Frequency. A Sensual Love Affair with Life - it’s out September + I wrote it because, it’s a book that I would have LOVED to have read back when I was trying so desperately to connect the dots and make all that I was experiencing this lifetime – as a witch, a mystic, a creative, a lover, an artist, an oracle, and a woman –‘make sense.’ 


Spoiler alert: it was ALL Venus. Wink.



But I’m NOT pimping the book. Well, at least not yet. 


No, we are currently 8 months into an 18-ish month Venus cycle + we’re experiencing it through the lens of fire sign,Leo - think courageous + big-hearted roaring lioness as your guiding force - + we’re about to enter in to the phase often referred to as ‘Venus in the Underworld.’



Dun, dun, durrrrrrrrrrrn.


It’s a time when the planet Venus is no longer visible in the sky, she’s behind the sun where she will reside for the next 50ish days. Yep, the Venus cycle offers us a cyclical rhythm to reveal the hidden mysteries of the initiatory descent + ascent journey, + if the last 8 months have felt like a stripping bare of everything you thought you were, this is because mid April, we enter the ‘metamorphic underworld’. Yep, Venus has a built in period of ‘death’ - a time out for processing + recalibrating with Ma of the Dark Matter in the cosmic cauldron.



Which is WHY I’m curating + creating this 3 part online series:
VENUS IN THE UNDERWORLD :: SEEING IN THE DARK

I LOVE this cyclical map because so many of us avoid the darkness, preferring to stay in the light, make a peace sign + shout ‘positive vibes only’. Which is great until an event or situation comes along that takes you out at the knees + you’re not prepared - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually - for how to navigate + ‘see’ in the dark.



In the Inanna myth, Ereshkigal hangs her sister on a meat hook during this phase - good news, you DON’T have to do that - but…we CAN take this time, in the void of the cosmic womb, the place of NO-thing (where EVERY thing becomes possible) to come belly-to-belly with Ma of the Dark Matter + really get to know ourselves, underneath all the labels + societal/familial/cultural stories, in the dark.



MY EXPERIENCE
For me, in this space, I remember all the parts of me that that I’ve disowned in order to likeable, nice + good. 
My rage, my bite, my magic, my mysticism, my passion, my most true + real expression have all been exiled here, in the darkness, at one stage or anther in order for me to be seen as ‘acceptable’ and/or likeable:


Don’t talk about THAT - they’ll think you’re crazy.


Don’t act THAT way - they’ll think you’re too much/too loud.



Don’t have an opinion - they’ll judge you. 



So when I DID come belly-to-earth with Ma of the Dark Matter (I share my full experience of this in my book Self Source-ery) + lets be clear, she will NOT stroke your hair + sing you lullabies, she is fierce + unconditional love + acts as an obsidian mirror that DEMANDS reclamation + reverence, not for her, but for yourself, she demanded:



I honour my rage. My bite. My scream. My appetite. + declare it ALL holy.


I no longer fear death.



I KNOW, deep in my belly + bones, that in the dark, the chaotic + unknown, I shed. I grow. I thrive.



And that…just as day ALWAYS follows night, we DO return.

And that…just as it was for Inanna, you’ll find that you don’t return from the underworld all sunshine + lollipops, no, what’s alchemised in the underworld is stripped back + without filter white-hot truth. 



VENUS IN THE UNDERWORLD :: SEEING IN THE DARK is a journey, an opportunity to actively enter IN. 


To conscious shake off + shed, like the serpent, that which no longer serve us.


A release of ALL the things we think we need but which actually restrict us - all the places we fight + resist. So that when we do inevitably find ourselves in the darkness, because we will, we know it.


We know who we are there.


We no longer fear it.


We know what’s possible + we also know that we can + that we do return.



WHO IS ‘SEEING IN THE DARK’ FOR?

You’re a grown up, so if you’re called, trust that calling, but as this is my 3rd Venus cycle offering this particular series/experience, I’d suggest it’s for you (+ by that I mean you’ll reap the most benefits) if:
