SHE Bangs

I often have wild dreams and visions of my lifetimes spent in Hathor’s Temple, drumming, dancing and shaking a sistrum, so it’s no surprise that I’m a drummer in this lifetime too. 

When you’re of Gypsy/Traveller descent, there’s very little escape from the beat of a drum or the rattle of a tambourine. My uncles used to play frame drums in pubs on a Sunday night, and I used to drink lemonade, eat a bag of crisps, and swirl, twirl and dance until I was dizzy. 

When I was 11, I played side drum in a marching band (I KNOW!) I now play the tambourine, sistrum and frame drums in ritual and ceremony, in sacred spaces, to clear space, to manifest dreams into being, to go on shamanic journeys (and I’m not going to lie, it’s also REALLLY good when you’re angry and need to let out a whole lot of frustration to simply bang the shit out of a drum. RARRR!) It’s how I stay connected in my body to my own rhythmic intelligence and how I connect with the rhythmic nature of Mumma Nature, the moon, and the cosmos.

Our rhythms and connection to the rhythms of nature and the cosmos are a FIERCE source power in navigating the current terrain.
